Mourinho’s men edge nervy Premier League opener

Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw scored for Manchester United, as they defeated Leicester City 2-1, in the first Premier League fixture of the 2018/2019 season.

United manager, Jose Mourinho, was able to call on Pogba, who only returned this week to training and handed him the captain’s armband.

The France midfielder stepped up and put his side in front from the penalty spot, after Daniel Amartey was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

Despite the home side’s lead, it was Leicester that dominated the game, although they failed to score.

Luke Shaw pounced on a Juan Mata pass to make it 2-0, before Jamie Vardy pulled one back in the dying minutes.
